A New Learning Commons
The Upper School Learning Commons opened in February 2012 and quickly became the heart and soul of campus, with spaces for quiet study, group work, research, catching up with friends and faculty and shopping at the school store.
Durham Academy is one of the finest independent schools in the southeast, widely recognized for academic excellence and the accomplishments of our faculty and students. Our philosophy has always been people and program first, because we believe that a stellar faculty and an innovative curriculum, not impressive buildings, make an excellent school. DA has remained true to its roots as a school with little pretense, a special place where teacher-student relationships flourish.
The Evergreen Campaign is about providing facilities that will transform the Upper School. It’s about supporting our students and faculty. It’s about allowing our educational and athletic programs to flourish. It’s about fostering a better sense of community.
